Seachtain na Gaeilge 2012

Thosaigh Seachtain na Gaeilge ar an gcúigiú lá de Márta agus beidh a lán eachtraí ar siúl timpeall na scoile chun ár teanga náisiúnta a spreagadh agus a chur chun cinn.  Beidh Tráth na gCeist, comórtaisí ealaínte agus ceolchoirm ar siúl i rith an seachtain seo chugainn. Tá súil againn go mbainfidh gach duine sult as agus go mbeidh gach duine ag déanamh iarracht  mór an Gaeilge a úsáid.

Seachtain na Gaeilge started on the 5th of March and there will be a lot of events happening in the school to promote our national language. We will be running a quiz and art competitions and holding our annual Seachtain na Gaeilge concert next week. We hope everybody enjoys it and makes a big effort to use Irish during the next few weeks

What’s the Story?

The senior classes in St Joseph’s have spent a lot of time over the last few weeks writing fictional stories which we entered in an RTE project called ‘What’s the Story’. A number of our boys’ essays were picked out and will be read out live on the RTÉ Junior digital radio station. When we have the times that the recordings will be aired we will put them up on the site so watch this space. Over the next few weeks we also hope to give the boys the opportunity to record their own stories as podcasts and these will be available on the Podcasting Club page. Congratulations to all the boys who took part.
